On a bed of roses: a seductively fragrant rose marzipan sitting on a tipsy bread and schnapps ganache. The intense bread schnapps is created by Josef Farthofer, who recycles organic, handmade dark bread, enhances it and turns it into a sublimely strong drink. The chocolate bar has wispy, thin top and bottom layers made from blackcurrant chocolate for some colourful, fruity highlights, and a milk chocolate coat all over.
In 1912, "bread and roses" was the protest motto of female textile workers and has since been adopted by the women's movement in general. Back then, Rose Schneiderman said: "The woman worker needs bread, but she needs roses too." How right she was!
